Remember the Whatsapp bug that had your Whatsapp crashing when you typed over 6000emojis..well a new bug is here this time its about characters.
The new bug has been discovered by 19year-old Kenyan geek,Douglas(come on thats me,on a serious note).So how did I jump on this.?
Well using my Infinix X507 phone,which is powered by mediatek,I started mtk logging which amounted to a total of 456mb in a span of about 6 hours(from 3am to 9am).Thats quite alot of data from logfiles.So I only choose a .txt file of about 8mb and copied it in text format and sent it to a whatsapp group(My favourite group ADitsole,awesome geek group) and one contact as a message.
In a couple minutes I was recieving complaints that my victims' Whatsapp was not responding.
It crashed seriously plus the screen timesout almost immediately.
The .txt files had 16931words,209079characters(with spaces),192151characters(without spaces).
Lets wait and see if they will fix this and who knows if they ignore this,it might be drawing near to a security flaw.
Whatsapp unlike others are known to be quite awesome in responding to user feedback.Late last year I had sent a complaint concerning them not considering a Kenyan flag among the emojis,a couple days later there was an update and voila the Kenyan flag.
